Choices in Ferret Colors

Ferret colors – based on a general rule, ferrets are usually grouped based on their colors. There are various ferret colors and you may find white ferrets, black ferrets and other additional types. Their underbelly and guard hairs may be the same or different, and their eyes and nose usually range from black to pink.

An albino ferret is usually peculiar for a lot of people, but is very handsome for some, particularly to those who are in to hunting. Both their eyes and nose are pinkish, and their coat is snow white in color. They may also be seen in creamy white shade and this light color can normally be seen in the guard hair and underbelly of the ferret. Aside from that, there are other variations of the albino color as well. They are often similar to the albino with creamy or show white skin and undercoating, and they have pink noses too. But their eyes are a little different, since the eyes are typically dark reddish-purple instead of pink.

Other ferret colors include the cinnamon ferrets. These types have a cinnamon brown shade with a white undercoat, and can sometimes have a light golden tint. Their eyes are usually reddish purple with light to medium shade, and they also have pinkish noses but can also be light brown with a T outline that is reddish-brown in color. They usually give the look of being red, although experts say that it is not a color that exists today. Ferret colors that are brown are known as chocolate ferrets. The hair color of these ferrets are chocolate brown with a golden to white shade on their underbelly, which is almost similar to the cinnamon or reddish ferret. Generally, these ferrets’ eyes are color brown, but can sometimes be reddish-purple in shade. The snout can usually take on any colorings, beige to reddish brown to pinkish, and may sometimes have a T outline which is brown in shade.

There are some ferrets that are classified as chocolates but are lighter in color. Ferret colors that are have light or medium tan tint are considered as diluted chocolate or champagne ferrets. This type usually has a light underbelly with a cream or lighter coloring. The nose is pinkish with a T outline and the eyes usually range from light to reddish-purple. Last but not the least is the black ferrets. There are two groups here, the black and the black sable. Black ferrets have black hair color and an underbelly that can be compared to the cinnamon or reddish ferret. The eyes and nose are usually black, but the snout can also have a black tint. On the other hand, black sable may look like black, but when you look closer, you will see that it has more of a dark brown color. The look of the nose of these ferrets can still be compared to the color of the nose of black ferrets.

There are the two major ferret colors, the solid and the standard. Solid hues are more concentrated compared to the standard ones and should have a T-bar face mask. The shade of the nose should also be equivalent to the ferret’s hair coloring, but the standard ferrets are more established.
